Take Cipmox 500 for Relief from Bacterial Infections

Cipmox is created with the active ingredient called Ciprofloxacin 500 mg.  This particular medicine is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic. Doctors usually prescribe this medicine for different bacterial infections, like, pneumonia, urinary tract infections, joint and bone infections, gastrointestinal infections, etc.

Cipla is the company that manufactures Cipmox. Usually, The 500 mg tablets of this medicine are sold in 10 tablet packs. The packages are also available in syrup and capsules form that are all taken orally. This medicine is administered through injections too. This medicine also has use in the form of eye and ear drops.

The medicine of Ciprofloxacin destroys all the infection causing bacteria. The medication process often has classifications based on the functions they take care of.  In the form of Quinolones, this medicine is used as ear and eye anti-infective antiseptic. Cipmox 500 is a Category C medicine. The researches on animal reproduction have shown that this particular drug has caused certain adverse effects on fetus. Due to the lack of adequate research on its effects, it is difficult to say anything clearly about the side effects of this particular medicine on human fetus or pregnant women.

It is extremely important to follow the instructions of a doctor about the intake of Cipmox. It is always advisable not to take any amount above the permissible amount. In case, you have already suffered from allergic reactions caused by Cipmox, it is better avoid the medicine. People having general allergic conditions to antibiotic medicines like, lomefloxacin, moxifloxacin, levofloxacin, nalidixic acid, norfloxacin, ofloxacin, etc might need to avoid this medicine too. Signs of different allergic reaction include:

1. Red swollen eyes
2. Rash
3. Breathlessness

After such problems start showing up, the patient might need to seek medical attention from experts. If a patient takes an accidental higher dose of Cipmox or any of the below mentioned severe reactions show up, the doctor’s advice become a very important aspect for problem solution. Such problems might include,

• Chest pain or tightness
• Diarrhea
• Blue or gray skin color
• Fever
• Numbness in feet or hands
• Itching
• Muscle pain or weakness
• Pain or swelling in the joints, ankles, or back
• Severe cough
• Rapid heartbeat
• Seizures
• Severe upset stomach
• Vomiting
• Wheezing
• Swelling of face, tongue, lips, or throat

If for any possible reason, a dose of Cipmox is missed, it is important to take it as and when you remember it. In case, it is almost the time for taking the next dose, it is a better idea to skip the missed dose and take the one scheduled at that time. It is never advisable to take an extra dose to compensate the missed one. It is not good at all to stop taking the medicine or changing its dosage without permission from the doctor.

It is not at all good to take Cipmox along with dairy elements, like milk, ice cream, cheese, or yogurt. Otherwise, the effectiveness of the medicine gets reduced.  Cipmox should be taken two hours prior or at least six hours after having any dairy product. It is also important avoiding beverages containing caffeine like tea, coffee and soda.
