The Dangers of Misusing Prescription Drugs

Every person has experienced a time when they have just taken a prescription medicine from their friend to find immediate relief from a problem.  If you were suddenly facing problems in breathing due to cold, your friends might have asked you to inhale Budecort inhaler to findsome relief. And you willingly have done so. One person's medication can never be a form of relief for another suffering from similar symptoms but different problem. Everyday some way or the other every person commits this same mistake without knowing the dangers that these prescription drugs hold.

Medication misuse can be done in many ways. Though students and teenagers are the major group misusing medications, some students believe drug consumption as competitiveness of the educational institute. Most commonly used medicines include painkillers, central nervous system depressants, anxiety and sleeping disorder medicines and stimulants.  A list of negative effects that can happen when prescription drugs are misused includes:

Health Problems

Health problems are a must when you abuse medications.  Opiods causes choking, changes mood and affects the cognitive functioning. It causes infertility as well as decreases the rate of breathing.  Sometimes there is the risk of coma or death.  Depressants when abused can cause seizures, paranoia, increases body temperature.  They also have the risk for fatal seizures and cardiovascular problems.

Addiction

Some medicine have addictive properties in them, so when they are misused the risk of addiction increases exponentially.  When you are physically dependent on a drug you start having cravings and other symptoms like shaking, sweating, nausea, nervousness and uncontrolled leg movements. Bone pain and insomnia are also pretty common. Slow and steady exposure to un-prescribed drugs like Budecort inhaler can cause major damage to the organs in the body.

Accidents

As drugs cause different reactions, hallucination, los of cognitive controls etc, they interfere when you are doing some work. Misusing drugs can lead to poor judgment in time of extreme need. Taking drugs while driving can lead an accident. And it is very well known to us that an accident leaves you either impaired or dead.
